The UK Aerospace Research Consortium
The UK Aerospace Research Consortium was launched in July 2018 at the Farnborough International Air show to provide the global aerospace community with a centralised point of engagement to the UK’s top university aerospace research capabilities. The consortium was supported with an EPSRC Network grant in September 2021.
The founding 11 leading aerospace universities are University of Bristol; University of Cambridge; Cranfield University; Imperial College of Science, Technology and Medicine; University of Manchester; University of Nottingham; Queen’s University Belfast; University of Sheffield; University of Southampton; University of Strathclyde and Swansea University.
The consortium offers UK industry, the Aerospace Technology Institute, Government and international partners (such as European research organisations, international academia, NASA and the NRC), a central co-ordinated research platform, access to national research facilities, and future skills development.
